Canyon Clipper Fishing Reports

November 6th   2009 - Clipper Slammin' Stripers !

The Clipper's been slammin'em for the past couple of weeks! The Rips have been yielding a lot of action with Stripers up to 33 inches but we've been consistently boatin' larger fish up to 40 inches on the Chunk! Forget about turkey this Thanksgiving and think Striper-Cakes!

September 25   2009 - Early Fall Action !

Sea bass and Croakers being caught in large numbers! Tuna bite is red hot in the canyons, going 6 for 14 on the yellow fins. Book for fall stripers !

June 23   2009 - ! ! ! S - H - A - R - K ! ! !

The shark fishing has been phenomenal! Our recent charters have been catching makos, thressers, and large blue sharks. Check out the mako pictures on our Photos link. The tuna bite is hot in the Canyons, with our charters limiting out on yellowfins. Inshore, the fluke and sea bass are also showing up in numbers. Call now to get in on the action!

May 20   2009 - 2009 Drum Bite is On!

The drum bite is on! The Greg Ducati charter had 7 drum between 35 and 75lbs. The John Galowmia charter also landed a couple of nice drum. The bite is red hot, particularly at night with the incoming tide. We're also hooking them during the day even at low tide. I still have some good dates open for drum and the upcoming Jim's Bait and Tackle Shark Tournament ( We took 2nd Place in 2007! ), so book your charter now!

April 3   2009 - Welcome Back 2009! Striper Action is Thick in the Bay!

The weather is warming up and so is the striper action. The stripers are being caught in good numbers with some nice size keepers (up to 34 inches) thrown in the mix! The drum are starting to move in with the striper! ( See the updated pictures of our 2008 drum season.) Call now to get the reports from Capt. Stan and book your charter now!

July 30   2008 - Too Busy Hookin' Em To Get The Reports Updated !

The fishing action has been so back breaking that we've hardly had time to update our reports! Call now to get the reports from Capt. Stan and book your charter now!

July 30   2008 - Offshore Report

Yesterday, the Canyon Clipper went four for four on bluefin, where we ended up wrestling a 250 pounder for 2 hours that fought (and looked) like a submarine. In general, the offshore report has been excellent, where we've been hooking the big-eyes in the 100 to 250 lb range. We're also getting some nice yellowfin at the canyons and gaffing some large mahi-mahi as well.

July 30   2008 - Inshore report

We're continuing to land the inshore football-sized tuna along with mahi-mahi. Flounder and sea bass action is heating up at the Old Grounds with some 18+ inch flounder being landed both at the Old Grounds and around Cape May.

June 23   2008 - Early Summer Fishing Report - Flounder, Tuna, Drum.

Charters to the Old Grounds are yielding nice early season doormat flounder. The "football" bluefin tuna are moving inshore while yellowfin and other offshore species are being caught during our offshore charters. The drum fish bite still remains strong, providing a taste of the offshore fight on a near-shore budget. We're still averaging about 7 per trip in the 70 to 80 lb range!

April 19   2008 - Slammin’ Spring Stripers !

The Steve Stankiewicz charter experienced plenty of action Saturday night landing   twenty-three spring stripers, three of which were fat 30 inchers!

March 4  2008 - Spring Striper and Drum just around the corner . . .

The weather's warming up ! Striper and Drum are just around the corner

Book your spring charter now ! Dates are going fast !
